Steve Prelipp

Profile

After graduating from Carroll College, Waukesha, WI Steve entered the United States Officers Training Academy.

​

After completing 4 years of service and being promoted to Captain Steve began work for Schneider National in Green Bay, WI.

​

At Schneider Steve lead driver recruiting as the fleet grew by 500 drivers. He then lead the operations department as the fleet grew by 1,300 more drivers.

​

He then became President of Cardinal Freight Carriers in Concord, NC. In 4 years there he created a profitable, viable carrier that grew by 200 drivers.

​

During his executive career Steve also was Vice President of Human Resources and Capacity Development at Heartland Express and a Vice President at Landstar.

​

In 1998 he founded Prelipp Consulting.to work with motor carriers to help them improve results on key industry issues such as driver recruiting, driver retention, employee training and other issues.

​

This work is ongoing and includes:

​

  • Working with carriers to develop strong driver recruiting and retention programs

​

  • Training over 300 driver recruiters to improve their sales skills

​

  • Developing a Fleet Manager Certification training program for the Truckload Carriers Association

​

  • Successful turn around work with companies in financial trouble

​

  • Executive coaching

​

  • Working with behavioral tools to help develop employee skills and conduct team building

​

  • Professional people management consulting using the PDP suite of system products
